SPOKANE, Wash. — For more than 100 years, the Spokane Rifle Club (SRC) has been part of the Inland Northwest’s shooting-sports heritage, building a legacy centered on marksmanship, safety, education and volunteer service.

The Members of Spokane Rifle club expresses their sincere condolences to the victims of the recent Spokane Complex fires and the considerable devastation it has caused our community. The Spokane Rifle Club, The surrounding Neighborhoods along with the members of our community will overcome obstacles and rebuild stronger and more resilient than ever before.

Founded in 1916
The Spokane Rifle Club was incorporated in 1916, establishing a tradition that has continued for more than a century.

A Historic Home Since 1925
The club began operations at its current property in 1925, creating a lasting home for generations of shooting-sports enthusiasts.

A Tradition of Marksmanship
Rifle shooting has been part of the club since its inception. Competition and marksmanship have remained central to SRC’s identity, with disciplines emphasizing fundamentals, consistency, skill and responsible firearm handling.

A Club Built by Volunteers
SRC remains a private, all-volunteer, member-run organization. Generations of members have contributed their time, expertise and leadership to maintain and improve the club and its programs.

A Legacy of Competition
The club’s history includes a strong tradition of competitive shooting across multiple disciplines, including high-power rifle, small-bore rifle, shotgun, pistol, muzzle loading, cast-bullet and black-powder cartridge shooting.

Developing the Next Generation
The Spokane Junior Rifle Club continues the club’s educational tradition by introducing young athletes to competitive shooting. SRC’s junior program has produced four Olympians—Hatti Ponti, Launi Meili, Eric Uptagrafft and Amanda Furrer. Meili went on to win Olympic gold in 1992 and is the current Head Coach of the Air Force Rifle team in Colorado Springs, CO. Along with Multiple Service Academy Appointments and NCAA College Scholarships awarded to juniors.

More than a Shooting Range
Today, SRC supports numerous organized programs and divisions, reflecting the broad range of interests that have helped sustain the organization throughout its history. The Facility is used for training by agencies such as the Spokane Police Dept. SWAT and Sniper Teams, The Parks Dept. for officer firearm qualifications, The Washington Fish and Wildlife for Training, Hunter Education programs and other local Public Law Enforcement agencies.

Preserving Its Heritage
The club maintains an archive of historic Spokane Rifle Club bulletins dating back decades, documenting the people, activities and events that have shaped the organization.

A Continuing Mission
The club’s stated goal is to provide safety and education while offering members a safe environment in which to develop their knowledge and skills.

From its founding in 1916 to its second century of operation, the Spokane Rifle Club continues to honor the people and traditions that built its legacy while preparing the next generation of responsible marksmen and women.
